Skiing
Alberta features two
World-class ski areas, Banff-Lake Louise and Jasper. Snow
here is the light fluffy icing on the cake. Long vertical runs,
fast six seater chairlifts (called six-packs), and glorious
scenery make for the perfect day. At night wine and dine in
lodges and Banff/Jasper!
Norquay
is legendary for its hang-on-to-your-goggles steeps and close
proximity to Banff townsite (10 minutes). 403-762-4421
Sunshine
Village has
all natural snow, and lots of it. Longest runs in Canada combine
with the longest ski season to make this an Alberta favorite.
Ski here until Mid-May and work on that suntan in quick order.

Lake
Louise is
Canada's single largest ski area and is a 45 minute drive from
Banff townsite.

Marmot
Basin is
newly expanded and family friendly. A very short drive Jasper
from Jasper and nearby are frozen waterfalls you can visit.

East of Banff are Fortress
Mountain and Nakiska (home of XV Winter Olympics).
These are the
most economical of Western Canada's ski resorts and very handy
to Calgary. Fortress is know for its high alpine skiing and
great prices and Nakiska for groomed fall-line skiing on man
made snow.

The Rockies
are almost as popular in the winter as they are in the summer.
Ski enthusiasts from around the World fly into Calgary and Edmonton
and transfer to the Rocky Mountain Resorts. Both Jasper and
Banff feature terrific trails for skiing
