This is another lake vying for the distinction
of being the most beguiling body of water on planet Earth.
really is hypnotic in its quiet beauty and brilliant green colors.
Emerald Green and only 12 kilometers from Lake Louise this place is very special. The access
road is paved and about a 20 minute drive from the Lake Louise
road. Located in the shadows of the Valley of the 10 Peaks you
can see the evidence of colossal glacial activitiy. Rocks,
forestal debris and silt are piled high. A Moraine, after which
this lake is named, is a mass or ridge of rocks deposited at the
foot or side of a glacier after being carried down or pushed aside
by the incredible weight of the glacier.
Stop by here and learn of a very interesting anomaly
that has to do with the name of the lake!
Moraine Lake is SOOO Peaceful!
Expect a quiet visit as power boats

THE ICEFIELDS PARKWAY
The main highway between Jasper and Banff is called the ICEFIELDS PARKWAY because of the many glaciers (over 100), hugging the mountains, that
can be seen as you drive the paved highway. It is a stunning drive
with many lakes that are incredible colors of blue and green,
seen nowhere else. Drive by a triple continental divide and learn
about "Rock Flour". This is possibly the most unforgettable
mountain trip you will ever make.
