YOHO WAS DECLARED A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE IN 1984

Between 1954 and 1971, Mount Burgess (8,527 feet) was featured on the back of the Canadian ten-dollar bill. To this day old-timers call it the "Ten Dollar Mountain".

Emerald Lake is on the same access road as Natural Bridge and an easy 1 hour drive from Banff and short distance to Field, BC.

There is a very easy and pleasant trail that circumnavigates the lake. The restaurant and lodge nearby are open through the summer months.
