The Banff Gondola (also Sulphur Mtn. Gondola)
And Historic Weather Observatory/Cosmic Ray Station
MORE GONDOLA PICTURES

Located at the edge of the town of Banff the Gondola is very easy to reach.

The upper terminal is 7,500 feet above sea level and the modern gondolas deliver you to the top in only 7 minutes. Hardly enough time to enjoy the spectacular views of the Bow Valley displayed before you.

For the more energetic we recommend riding the cable cars up to the summit and then walking down. Those in good physical condition can walk both ways.

Sulphur Mountain Gondola actually sits atop Anson Peak, named after the meteorologist who visited the peak more than 1,000 times at the beginning of the 20th century.  Now that's a dedicated tourist!

Walk the very easy boardwalk to Samson's Peak where you find the historic Cosmic Ray Station.

After the Gondola ride delivers you to the top enjoy the magnificent views from the restaurant.

HOTELS are very nearby
